Sizing Questions
Here are some questions to help a customer to estimate the number of license required for Cortex Cloud:
- What are the key capabilities that are required? (Posture Security, Runtime Security, Application Security, Cloud ASM)
- What are the Cloud Service Providers (CSP) currently in use? (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI)
- How many VMs in the cloud environment that are not running containers?
- How many VMs in the cloud environment that are running containers? (AWS EKS, Azure AKS, etc, count by worker nodes)
- How many Containers as a Service are running in the cloud environment? (AWS Fargate, etc, count by service)
- How many serverless functions in the cloud environment? (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, etc)
- How many container images are stored in the registry? (AWS ECR, Azure Container Registry, Google Artifact Registry, etc)
- How many storage buckets in the cloud? (AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, Google Storage Bucket, etc)
- How many managed cloud databases in the cloud environment? (AWS RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora)
- How many developers (git committers) that you have in your environment?
- How many unmanaged assets are expected to be discovered? If unsure, 25% of posture workloads will be used as guideline
- Is there any expectation on growth over the next few years? (multi-year contract)
